My Path to Makeup

Over the last decade, I’ve been so lucky to have designed a career that I love. With a background in nutrition and wellness, I have followed a path that led me to becoming a licensed esthetician in 2014. One day, one of my wax clients asked me to help with makeup for a wedding she was in. That one gig changed the trajectory of my career and has allowed me to really engage with my creative self.

I continually find inspiration in art, music, fashion, people, history…and the way all these things mesh in the world. I spend time looking at old photos. I love to dream up ideas for new artistic ventures.

Makeup is my art. The colors, the textures, intuitively applying them to an infinite variety of canvases. It’s never monotonous, I am inspired every time. I think of makeup as an accessory, similarly to how you’d add something to an outfit. Is it a necessity? No. But can it personalize your look and add visual interest? For sure! When I’m really in my happy place is when I get to create an entire look…the makeup, the hair, all of it…gleaning inspiration from my client’s style and event.

Many of my clients are drawn to my clean, natural aesthetic. Don’t get me wrong, although I tend to approach makeup with a light hand, I can bring the rock n’ roll when it’s called for.

Currently, I reside in Moorpark, California, part of the beautiful Conejo Valley, and I service the surrounding areas as well. Hope to meet you soon.
